Tithe Barn Tearooms

12th May 2017

Joan Cocks:

Hello Geraldine,

Re Tithe Barn tearooms-my partner and I-Joan Cocks & Eileen Hoskin were the proud owners of Tithe Barn from 1965-1970. We enjoyed very happy times and made many friends with our visitors, who came from miles around as our reputation grew. We sold it as a tea room, but sadly it is now a private dwelling.
I hope you enjoyed your visit to Sedlescombe-a most beautiful village. The Queen's Head, Holmes House, were our favourite places.

Your query brought back many happy memories.

Kind regards,

Joan Cocks

Flower Princess Sedlescombe Fair 1981

8th May 2017

Mohamed Ismail Mohamed-Ibrahim:

Hi,

I recently found a photo I took of the winners of the Flower Princess contest at the Sedlescombe Fair way back in the summer of 1981. I remember there was also a hot air balloon show and the fair was opened by a TV personality. I had just finished my A-levels at the then Hastings College of Further Education and decided to visit the fair. I can't attach the photo to this message board, but I would love to share the photo with the three winners. They must be in their 40s now, and I hope they are in good health. Is there a way I can send the photo to the local newspaper or something? or perhaps the 'princesses' are reading this message :-)
I can be contacted at mamoomael@gmail.com

Thank you for reading this.

Keeling

10th September 2016

Ronald Keeling:

I recently read about the football team from Sedlescombe consisting entirely of Keelings. My great great grandfather came from England about 1820. Is there a way to contact Keelings in your area?

Battle Museum

2nd September 2016

Adrian Hall:

Arising from a bequest by Derek Wilton of Sedlescombe, we seek donation of historical objects ( for appraisal) from Sedlescombe, to supplement those we already have in Battle Museum. Please contact Adrian and Sarah on 01424 775200 or come in and see us at the Museum on Thursday by prior arrangement. The Museum, at the top of the High Street near the Almonry is open six days a week, 10-4.30 free admission and is well worth seeing anyway.
